The Educational Uses of Digital Storytelling

Schedule for the week:
Monday - Define, Collect and Decide – Think about a topic for your digital story. Then begin to gather resources such as images (pictures, drawings, photographs, maps, charts, etc.), audio (music, speeches, interviews, and sound effects) and any information you might need for your story.
Tuesday – Select, Import, Create – Choose and organize the material for your digital story and import it into PhotoStory (directions below).
Wednesday – Decide, Write, Record, Finalize – Decide on the purpose and point of view of your digital story. Write the script and record the narration. Import this into PhotoStory. Finalize your digital story by saving it as a Windows Media Video (.wmv) file.
Thursday – Demonstrate, Evaluate, Replicate – We’ll share and discuss our digital stories. We’ll talk about how digital stories might be used in the classroom.
Friday – Unit Work – There will be time each day set aside for developing a lesson plan that includes digital storytelling. Today we’ll wrap things up and share.PhotoStory How-Tos:
